Columbia-Based Tenable to Acquire Vulcan Cyber
Columbia, Md. – Tenable Holdings, a Columbia-based cybersecurity company, said it will acquire Israel’s Vulcan Cyber for $147 million in cash and $3 million in restricted stock. The deal is expected to close by the end of March. Tenable is the developer of an AI-powered exposure management platform designed to help prevent cyber attacks. Tenable said it plans to expand its Tenable One platform with Vulcan Cyber’s capabilities, including bolstering visibility, third-party data flows, risk prioritization and remediation.
“These capabilities aren’t just technical enhancements – they represent a fundamental shift in how organizations will manage cyber risks holistically into the future,” said Mark Thurmond, Tenable’s co-CEO and COO. “For example, while having a cloud security platform is critical on its own, its power is exponentially amplified when treated as part of a comprehensive exposure management approach.”
