Vantage Data Centers to Build New $2 Billion Campus in Fredericksburg
Fredericksburg, Va. – Vantage Data Centers, a Denver-based developer of data center campuses with a large presence in Northern Virginia, said on Thursday it will invest $2 billion to develop a major new campus in the Fredericksburg area. Located in Stafford County, an hour from Vantage’s three existing Virginia campuses in Ashburn’s “Data Center Alley,” the new VA4 campus will house three data centers on 82 acres totaling approximately 929,000 square feet. The first building is scheduled to open in late 2027.
“The Fredericksburg region offered a significant opportunity for Vantage to serve our customers seeking capacity and access to the resources of Data Center Alley without being in the high congestion zone,” said Dana Adams, the North American president of Vantage Data Centers.
McLean-Based Global Guardian to Bolster Technology Through Acquisition
McLean, Va. – Global Guardian, a McLean-based provider of risk management services, said it has acquired UK-based Solace Global Risk, a travel risk management company with a strong presence in Europe and a proprietary technology platform. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Solace will continue to operate under its current brand and serve its European clients for the next 12-18 months, while the companies complete their integration. Global Guardian said it will migrate its client base to Solace’s technology platform.
Evercoast Wins Eighth-Annual DataTribe Challenge
Fulton, Md. – Evercoast, a New York-based developer of software for robotics and simulation teams, has won the eighth-annual DataTribe Challenge, the Fulton-based cyber foundry announced. The competition is designed to identify technology startups looking to disrupt cybersecurity and AI. Evercoast beat out four other finalists, presenting to an expert panel of judges and a live audience of potential investors and customers. Its software is designed to turn real-world 2D video into spatial data for media production, immersive applications and intelligent systems.
Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards Names 12 Winner
Tysons, Va. – Twelve DC-area individuals and organizations were named winners at the 23rd Annual Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards, an annual event honoring excellence in government contracting. The event, hosted by the Northern Virginia Chamber (NVC) and the Professional Services Council (PSC), handed out awards in 10 categories, including Contractor of the Year, Executive of the Year, Programs of the Year and Public Sector Partners of the Year. In addition, Joseph Kampf, the co-founder and former chairman and CEO of CoVant Management, received the event’s Hall of Fame award. The complete list of winners is available here.

(Columbia, Md.) The Maryland Technology Development Corp. (TEDCO) said it has signed a deal with South Korea’s Kunicorn Investment, which will leverage its network of venture capitalists and investment firms to support South Korean startups in Maryland. Under the two-year agreement, TEDCO and Kunicorn will jointly identify and evaluate tech startups, then work to help support them financially.
(Washington, DC) DC-based healthcare data company CAQH has named Maeghan Sulham as its inaugural chief HR officer. Sulham, who most recently served as the senior vice president of talent management at Risepoint, will oversee the company’s HR functions, including talent strategy, organizational design, leadership development, HR operations and employee engagement.
(Silver Spring, Md.) Silver Spring-based CuriosityStream, the documentary and non-fiction streaming network, has named John Higgins as its vice president of content partnerships. Higgins joined the company in 2021 following its acquisition of educational media publisher Now You Know Media, and has been serving as its director of content partnerships.
