21 Local Companies on Deloitte’s 2024 Tech Fast 500 List
Washington, DC – Over 20 local startups were listed on the 2024 North America Technology Fast 500 list from Deloitte, an annual ranking of the fastest-growing companies in the country. The ranking is based on the percentage fiscal year revenue growth from 2020 to 2023; it locks at companies in the technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences, fintech, and energy tech sectors. Rockville-based Autosled, a marketplace for vehicle shippers and transporters, was the highest-ranking local company, coming in ninth place in the nation. Boston-based JobGet Acquires Glen Allen, Va.-based Snagajob
Glen Allen, Va. – JobGet, a Boston-based hourly job platform, announced that it has acquired Glen Allen-based Snagajob, a job listing service also focused on the hourly job market. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The companies said the deal will created the largest hourly job platform in the United States.
“Since Snagajob was founded 25 years ago, the company’s mission of helping hourly workers find right-fit jobs has never wavered, and we’re confident that this mission will not only continue but thrive as part of JobGet,” said Keith Forshew, the CEO of Snagajob.
Charlottesville-based RIIG Raises $3 Million in Seed Funding
Charlottesville, Va. – RIIG, a Charlottesville-based risk intelligence and cybersecurity startup, announced that it has closed on $3 million in seed funding. The Felton Group, the family office of Charlottesville-based hedge fund manager Jaffray Woodriff, led the round. RIIG provides open-source intelligence solutions for “zero trust” environments.
Zennify Acquires Richmond-Based Terazo
Richmond, Va. – Zennify, a California-based technology consultancy specializing in financial services, said it has acquired Richmond-based Terazo, a digital engineering firm specializing in artificial intelligence and application development. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Zennify said the acquisition will combine its depth across platforms such as Salesforce, nCino and Databricks with Terazo's expertise in customer engagement technologies like Twilio and Databricks. Tercera, an investor in both Zennify and Terazo, will continue to support the combined company.
Federal Data Sold to Investors; New Name of Clear Fracture
Vienna, Va. – Government software and services provider Federal Data Systems said it has been acquired by a group of investors and has changed its name to Clear Fracture. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The company, based in Vienna, said it will primarily focus on developing data integration tools designed to help customers unlock greater business value from their data streams. As part of the move, the company has named Brian Frutchey, the former CTO of BigBear.ai, as its new CTO.
Springfield-Based TechSilo Names Rachel Bepko as CEO
Springfield, Va. – TechSilo, a Springfield-based provider of engineering and technical services to national security and defense clients, has named Rachel Bepko as its CEO. Bepko most recently served as the director of marketing at Ookos, and also has served as the executive director of MAXISIQ and founder and executive director of SongFarm.org. Founded in 2012 as Penumbri and rebranded in 2018, TechSilo specializes in IT services, cybersecurity, AI development and advanced analytics.
GovExec Names Jessie Bur as Executive Editor of Nextgov/FCW, Route Fifty
Washington, DC – GovExec, the DC-based marketing intelligence and news company focused on government leaders and contractors, has named Jessie Bur as the executive editor of its Nextgov/FCW and Route Fifty news organizations. The online publications now share a unified focus on governments’ use of technology across the federal, state and local levels. This appointment follows GovExec’s decision to merge the editorial teams of Route Fifty and Nextgov/FCW. Bur had previously served as the managing editor of Nextgov/FCW since 2022.

(Tysons, Va.) Tysons-based Tegna, the television spinoff of Gannett, has named Dhanusha Sivajee as its senior vice president and chief experience officer. Sivajee, most recently the chief marketing officer at Angi, will oversee research, communications, brand, performance and lifecycle marketing, plus the development of consumer digital products.
(Reston, Va.) Reston-based Revature, a provider of technology talent services, has named Vivek Ravichandran as its senior vice president and head of training, technology and platform. Ravichandran previously spent more than 13 years at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), most recently as the head of talent development.
